Muskies bomb Sioux Lookout

It was still hockey—it just looked like a pinball game.
Another weekend of piling up goals in rapid-fire succession left the Muskie boys’ hockey team still undefeated in NorWOSSA action.
The home side from Sioux Lookout played the bug to the Muskies’ windshield over the weekend as the black-and-gold splattered the ice with their opponent in 16-2 and 19-1 victories Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Considering the talent gap between the two squads, Muskie head coach Glen Edwards curbed his enthusiasm on the team’s decisive victories.
“We played not too bad,” said Edwards, whose first-place squad moved to 5-0 in NorWOSSA play.
“There were some things we were trying to work on, like moving the puck and taking away their ice,” he added. “We’re starting to do better in those areas.”
Justin Larson was the top Muskie sniper in the two games, scoring a hat trick both days. Other Muskie goal scorers were not available by press time today.
The only sore spot for Fort Frances was the loss of two key defencemen.
Eric Mosbeck re-injured the shoulder that held him out of the line-up for a month last season while David Pollard aggravated a lingering knee problem.
Edwards said Mosbeck is expected to miss one-two weeks while Pollard definitely will miss tomorrow night’s exhibition game against Chisholm at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice for Kids Arena.
He will be re-evaluated for the two-game set against Red Lake, which goes this Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Ice for Kids Arena.
