The Muskies are a step closer to an all-Ontario berth after trouncing the Sioux Lookout Warriors 12-2 there Monday night to sweep their best-of-three NorWOSSA semi-final series.
The black-and-gold now will host the Dryden Eagles in the best-of-three NorWOSSA final, which gets underway here Friday night.
Game two is slated for Sunday in Dryden, with game three, if necessary, back here Tuesday night.
Dryden had swept the Kenora Broncos in their best-of-three semi-final series.
Adam McTavish led the Muskie attack last night with a hat trick. Dallas Mosbeck added two goals while Bryce Witherspoon, Ross Anderson, Kevin Webb, Kris Esselink, David Lloyd, Jeff Savage, and Cole Hayward all netted singles.
“It was pretty much the same game we have seen in the past,” Muskie head coach Glen Edwards said of Monday night’s game. “It was two well-disciplined teams.”
Edwards added the Muskies skated and moved the puck more.
“There was more dispersed scoring,” he continued. “Webb has cooled off a bit and the Anderson line is scoring more.”
The game originally was scheduled to be play Sunday afternoon in Sioux Lookout but it was cancelled due to Saturday night’s snowstorm.
The Muskies had won the opener 9-2 here on Friday night.
