Muskies battle Kenora in pivotal third-place matchup tonight

The Muskies can solidify their quest for third-place in the league standings with a win here tonight against the Kenora Broncos.
Both teams are currently tied for the third spot, each with five wins and 10 points, but the Broncos do have a game in hand on the black-and-gold.
Red Lake is comfortably in second spot with 14 points, well back of the front-running Dryden Eagles (13-0). The black-and-gold would very much like to finish in third spot to avoid a best-of-three matchup with Dryden.
Kenora is fresh off a 4-3 home-ice win over Red Lake last Thursday while the Muskies were edged by Dryden 4-3 last Friday.
The Muskies played well in their loss against Dryden and will have to contend with Kenora’s duo of Travis Hodges (10-7-17) and Brian Clemmens (6-9-15) who sit seventh and eighth in league scoring, respectively.
After tonight’s matchup, the Muskies host the last-place Sioux Lookout Warriors a week from tonight and then close out their season on the road Feb. 24 in Kenora.
The Broncos, meanwhile, wind out their schedule with games at home against Sioux lookout Feb. 13, on the road in Red Lake Feb. 20th and then host the Muskies in the season finale.
