Both the Muskie girls’ and boys’ soccer teams were eliminated from medal-round contention as each fell to 0-3 with losses this morning.
On the girls’ side, the top-ranked Bishop Macdonell Celtics (Guelph) romped to a 7-0 win over the Muskies.
Fort High, seeded second in Pool ‘B,’ needed to win to stay alive after losing its opener 2-0 yesterday to the third-ranked Holy Trinity Tigers (Bradford West Gwillimbury) and then fell 3-1 to the fifth-ranked Richview Saints (Etobicoke).
Maggie Jean had the Muskie goal against the Saints.
The black-and-gold finished closed out pool play earlier this afternoon against the fourth-ranked Saint Paul Patriots (Niagara Falls).
Meanwhile, the Muskie boys—ranked fourth in Pool ‘C’—were blanked 2-0 by the fifth-seeded Saint Michael Mustangs (Kemptville) this morning to dash their playoff hopes.
Fort High opened with a 2-0 loss yesterday against the top-ranked St. Andre Bessette Bulldogs (London), then dropped a 4-1 decision to the Glendale Bears (Hamilton).
Ian Jodoin netted the Muskies’ lone marker.
Fort High closed out pool play earlier this afternoon against the second-seeded Ascension Eagles (Mississauga).
