The Muskie senior girls’ volleyball team will leave Belleville without a win to its name after losing both matches this morning to finish 0-4 and in fifth place in Pool ‘A’ at the OFSAA ‘AA’ championship.
After losing both their matches yesterday, the 16h-ranked Muskies fell 2-0 (25-14/25-17) to the 20th-seeded Streetsville Tigers (Mississauga) to start the day.
The defending NorWOSSA and NWOSSAA champs still had a chance to get into a three-way tie-breaker to decide third, fourth, and fifth in the pool, with the third- and fourth-place teams advancing to the consolation quarter-finals later today.
But the 11th-ranked Lockerby Vikings (Sudbury) ended Fort High’s stay at the tournament with a 2-0 win (25-16/29-27) in their final pool game, meaning Lockerby and Streetsville move on to the consolation round.
The top-ranked Riverside Rebels (Windsor) won the pool with a 4-0 record while the sixth-seeded St. Mary’s Crusaders (Hamilton) were 3-1 to send both into today’s championship quarter-finals.
