A pair of Muskie curling rinks are continuing their quest for a berth at the all-Ontarios.
Competing at the NWOSSAA playdowns in Terrace Bay, the boys’ foursome, which includes skip Isaac Keffer, third Cody Heyens, second Ian Grant, and lead Jordan Sokoliuk, sat with a 1-1 record heading into action today.
They opened play yesterday with a 6-4 win over Sioux Lookout, but then fell 7-3 to Longlac.
The rink was up against Geraldton this morning, then was slated to take on Lake Superior (Terrace Bay) this afternoon.
The Muskie girls’ rink, meanwhile, made up of skip Tirzah Keffer, third Samantha Mueller, second Taylor Hartlin, and lead Carley Busch, lost their round-robin opener yesterday evening to Sioux Lookout by a score of 10-4.
The defending NWOSSAA champs faced Superior (Thunder Bay) this morning, then were to meet Nipigon-Red Rock late this afternoon before concluding their slate of round-robin games against Chateau Jeunesse (Longlac) tonight.
The boys’ and girls’ winners will go on to represent NWOSSAA at OFSAA on March 23-26 in Thunder Bay.
