Sekina Scheibler ran all the way to one of the first WHSFL awards of the season.
The Muskie running back was named the Currie Division’s offensive player-of-the-week Tuesday following his phenomenal performance in Fort High’s 42-18 win Friday over the host Maples Marauders.
Scheibler had 19 carries for 309 yards, averaging more than 16 yards per rush.
He also scored all six of his team’s touchdowns as the Muskies (1-0) snapped an 11-game losing skid dating back to Oct. 2, 2015.
The black-and-gold next face a first-place showdown against the Kenora Broncos (1-0) tomorrow in their home-opener.
Kick-off set for 3 p.m. at Muskie Field.
