Jillian Langtry has small-town roots, but proved she is right at home in the big city when the spotlight comes on.
Langtry put in a brilliant performance yesterday, racking up five goals to pace the Muskie girls’ hockey team to a 9-5 pounding of the College Jeanne-Sauve Olympiens (Winnipeg) in their opening game at the John Taylor Collegiate Pipers Classic Tournament of Champions at the MTS Iceplex.
Katie Sinclair and Shelby Tymkin each added a pair of goals round out the Muskies’ scoring.
Dana Cridland earned the win between the pipes.
The Muskies were back on the ice this afternoon against the St. Mary’s Academy Flames (Winnipeg), with the outcome not known by press time.
The tournament wraps up Sunday.
