The Muskie girls’ hockey team came home with a 5-2 win in an exhibition game at Eveleth, Mn. on Tuesday night.
Jillian Langtry scored twice to pace the Muskie attack while Sara Trendiak earned the win between the pipes.
“Sara had a strong game and although they had some good scoring opportunities, we carried the play for most of the game,” Muskie coach Chris Hill enthused.
Jessie Baker, Miranda Keller, and Kailey Curtis netted singles for the black-and-gold, who were whistled for six penalties in the game but were able to withstand Eveleth’s power-play chances.
“We got into a bit of penalty trouble and so they had many opportunities to put the puck to the net,” Hill noted.
“A pretty solid team effort as we started a little slow, but ended the game on a strong note.”
Next up for the squad is a tournament in Dryden this weekend before returning home next Tuesday (Dec. 2) to host Kenora in NorWOSSA action.
The Muskies (2-1) already have beaten the Broncos twice in league play so far this season.
