The Muskie girls’ hockey team continued their recent run of success with a 5-1 exhibition win over the host Baudette Bears last night.
It was the black-and-gold’s third-straight victory.
With the game tied 1-1 after the second period, the Muskies’ offence came to life in the third—lighting the lamp four times to cement the victory.
Jillian Langtry led the attack with a hat trick while Shae-Lynn Smith netted the other two goals.
Jessica Taggart and Taylor Dixon each had a pair of assists while goalie Melissa Payne turned aside 20 shots to earn the victory.
The Muskies are back out on the road again tonight as they go up against the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints (Kenora) at 7:30 p.m.
Their next home game is set for this Friday (Feb. 11) at 7:15 p.m. when they welcome the Kenora Broncos.
Meanwhile, the Muskie boys’ hockey team hit the ice again tomorrow night in Kenora.
The squad is coming off a pair of weekend wins over Red Lake, winning 9-2 on Friday and then 5-0 on Saturday.
The power-play unit was the key in Saturday’s victory as all five goals came with the man advantage.
