Muskie girls top Eagles

The Muskie girls’ hockey team opened its NorWOSSA season on a winning note Tuesday night with a 3-2 shootout victory over the visiting Dryden Eagles.
Lauren Krukoski and Kailey Curtis scored in regulation for the black-and-gold. But with the score knotted at 2-2 after three periods, the match moved into an extra overtime frame.
After 10 minutes of scoreless hockey, the girls faced off in a best-of-five shootout. Krukoski, Nina Bird, and Miranda Kellar all found the net to cement the squad’s first league victory of the season.
Muskie goalie Katie Stearns allowed only one goal in the shootout.
