Muskie girls’ team triumphs twice

The Muskie girls’ hockey team coasted to a pair of exhibition victories over the weekend as the first half of their season comes to a close.
The squad first iced the Babbitt Knights 5-2 here Friday night before winning 3-1 against the Golden Bears in Eveleth, Mn. on Saturday afternoon.
Already battered, the black-and-gold lost leading scorer Lauren Krukoski among others Friday night—and ended Saturday’s game with just eight skaters.
But even with a minimal roster, the team still found a way to win both games.
“That’s one thing, the character of this team is pretty good,” head coach Lynn Kellar said. “Nothing seems to bother them.”
The Muskies, who sport a 4-1 record in NorWOSSA play, head to Dryden tomorrow night for a game against the last-place Eagles before hosting the International Falls Broncos in an exhibition match Friday evening.
