Issy Taylor scored a hat trick to pace the Muskie girls’ hockey team to an 8-1 rout of the host Kenora Broncos on Tuesday afternoon for their third-straight win.
Taylor, Ellayna Kabel, and Martina Woods all bulged the twine within the first 10 minutes of the first period as the Muskies (5-5-0-1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead.
Alex Gartzke then connected 3:07 into the second before the Broncos finally got on the board to trim it to 4-1 after 40 minutes.
But that’s as close as the Broncos would get as the Muskies tallied four more times in the third to ice the victory.
Paiten Kinnear, Taylor (two), and Tatum Glowasky all lit the lamp in the last 20 minutes to cap the scoring.
Isabella Fortes earned the win between the pipes.
The Muskies resume NorWOSSA action tonight against the host Dryden Eagles before heading to International Falls on Monday night to face the Broncos in the finale of their annual two-game “Border Battle” exhibition series.
Fort High claimed the opener with a thrilling 2-1 overtime win here back on Nov. 27.
