Muskie girls blanked

Last time, it took 22 tries before another NorWOSSA team could figure out the Muskie girls’ hockey squad.
This time, it only took three.
The Dryden Eagles (6-0) handed the visiting Muskies (4-2) their second loss in two regular-season meetings with a 4-0 whitewash last night.
After a scoreless first period, the Eagles, who had ended Fort High’s 21-game NorWOSSA unbeaten streak last month, Liv Carter and Elizabeth Carter beat Muskie goalie Kate Parsons in the second.
Then in third, Rachel Getson made it 3-0 before adding her second of the game as extra insurance with 52 seconds to go.
Jacquie Grandmont earned the shutout while Parsons took the loss.
The Muskies will be back at it Monday when they host the International Falls Broncos at 7:15 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.
It will be the back half of the teams’ annual home-and-home exhibition series.
Fort High won the first meeting 5-3 at Bronco Arena back on Dec. 2.
