Despite a late push in the third period, the Muskie girls’ hockey team were unable to overcome an early deficit—falling 4-2 to the Kenora Broncos in NorWOSSA action Friday night at the ’52 Canadians Arena here.
The black-and-gold trailed 2-0 following the first period.
Then even though they would cut the deficit to a single goal in both the second and third frames, the Broncos were able to solve Muskie goalie Dana Cridland to give themselves a comfortable two-goal cushion once again.
Hannah Rose led the Broncos with a pair of goals, with Rylee Smith and Jess Ricklefs also hitting the twine.
Shelby Tymkin and Hailey Clendenning replied for the Muskies while Sarah Milling registered the lone assist for the home side.
Fort High, which currently sports a 1-3 mark in NorWOSSA play, will be back in action tomorrow night in Dryden against the Eagles.
