The Muskies wanted to go to court but Mother Nature tossed out their plans.
Today’s scheduled NorWOSSA girls’ volleyball and boys’ basketball action between the Muskies and host Kenora Broncos were postponed yesterday.
Severe weather conditions in and around Kenora prompted school officials and NorWOSSA administrators to postpone the games to a later date.
But the road trip is still on for the Muskie boys’ hockey team as it heads to Brandon, Man. today for the Crocus Plains Victoria Inn tournament.
Fort High kicks off action in Pool #2 tonight against the Neepawa Tigers before facing the Stonewall Rams tomorrow.
The tournament runs through Sunday.
Meanwhile, the fiercest rivalry in NorWOSSA girls’ hockey is slated to resume tonight at 7p.m. at the ’52 Canadians Arena when the Dryden Eagles (3-1) visit the Muskies (6-0).
Fort High has beaten the Eagles twice so far this season—a 4-1 victory in the pre-season and then an 8-4 win in their NorWOSSA home-opener Nov. 24.
Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring along a stuffed animal to throw onto the ice after the first Muskie goal for the team’s annual “Teddy Bear Toss.”
All the toys will be collected and distributed to under-privileged children in the area this holiday season.
