Five local football players will be heading up to the big leagues this fall.
Fort Frances Muskie Football players Aaron Scheibler, Brady Meeks, Carson Noga, Colton Allen and Dale Berg each signed with the Winnipeg Rifles during the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) Signing Day held on Monday, June 1.
Now that players have signed to the team, they can begin to prepare both for the team’s Main Camp, as well as the opening week of the regular season. When the opener is scheduled to take place is still up in the air due to COVID-19.
Players with the Rifles compete in the Prairie Football Conference (PFC) and have a shot at playing with Winnipeg’s Grey Cup-winning Blue Bombers, as the Rifles serve as a feeder team to the CFL.
