The Muskie football team handed out its annual awards at the Little Beaver Snow Park lodge last Wednesday.
The following award winners were voted on by their fellow teammates:
•Paul Renaud Award (team MVP)—Matt DePiero;
•Reece Scofield Award for Outstanding Contribution—Matt Mutz and Josh Stevens;
•Marc DeGagne Award (Defensive MVP)—Mason McKay, Tyler Romyn, and Mike Sonnasinh; and
•Rookie of the Year—Brad McDonald;
Other winners were as follows:
•Vidruk Division defensive all-stars—Matt DePiero, Mason McKay, and Tyler Romyn;
•Elite Performance Centers defensive award—Mike Sonnasinh;
•John Potter/D’arcy Bain Sports Bursary Award nominee—Matt DePiero;
•Robert Whitlaw Award (rookie-of-the-year) nominee—Brad McDonald;
•WHSFL Academic Honour Roll—Matt DePiero, Matt Mutz, Geoff Smeeth, Mike Sonnasinh, Josh Stevens, Blake Wepruk, and Jeremy Whitehead;
•Arnie Taylor Volunteer Award nominee—coach Lou Gauthier; and
•CTV Defensive Player(s) of the Week—Tyler Romyn (Week 3) and Matt Mutz (Week 5).
