Muskie curlers fare well

Both the Muskie boys’ and girls’ curling rinks had strong showings at a two-day exhibition tourney here last week.
The girls won their division with three wins and a tie, beating Beaver Brae (Kenora) 9-0 in the final.
They tied Beaver Brae 4-4 earlier in the round-robin while also collecting a 9-1 win over St. Thomas Aquinas (Kenora) and an 11-1 romp over Atikokan.
The boys, meanwhile, went 3-1, losing out to Beaver Brae in the medal round.
Queen Elizabeth won the ‘A’-side final.
The event was a tune-up for the NorWOSSA qualifying event coming up Jan. 10-12 in Sioux Lookout, where the top six teams will move on to the NorWOSSA final.
The NorWOSSA showdown goes the first week of March in Kenora, where the top two teams then will square off with two Thunder Bay reps and two from the North Shore for a chance to advance to OFSAA.
