Muskie curlers advance

The Muskie curling program is one step closer to the all-Ontario championships after once again dominating the competition at the second NorWOSSA qualifying bonspiel yesterday in Rainy River.
All three Muskie rinks—the boys’, girls’, and mixed—finished first in their respective divisions and advanced to the NorWOSSA championships Fed. 19-20 in Kenora.
Skip David Kaun led the boys’ rink to a pair of wins yesterday—7-4 over host Rainy River and then 9-1 over Atikokan—to remain undefeated in league play.
The Muskie girls, meanwhile, were only slightly less successful.
Skip Jenna Enge’s rink scored three in the seventh end and then stole one in the eighth to earn an 8-8 tie against host Rainy River.
They then cruised to a 10-0 win over Atikokan.
The Muskie mixed squad—skipped by Ben Robinson—split its two games yesterday, losing 6-2 to Whitefish Bay before romping over Atikokan 10-0 in the second draw.
