Led by a standout performance from Grade 10 runner Gage Kellar, the Muskie cross-country team is sending a team of 10 to the provincial championships in Sudbury on Nov. 9.

Kellar finished top in his age group, running 5 km in 18:40 with the second-place finisher just five seconds behind.

This adds to Kellar’s long list of titles in the NWOSSA running circuit. He won the Novice boys 4 km race last year and picked up three titles at last year’s spring track and field championship.

Kellar will be joined by senior girls runner Reece Wiersema and the Muskie girls Novice and Junior teams, which qualified as well.

Peyton Arpin, Ava Burns, Jorja Guertin, Sophia Maynard and Peyton Sisco will represent the Muskies in the 5 km junior girl’s race.

Tatum Hill, Adalynn Foster, Emilie Jewell and Abigail Matheson will represent the Muskies in the 4 km novice category.
