It was a bad day for the four Muskie court teams in Dryden yesterday.
The senior boys’ basketball squad was dumped 51-33 by the host Eagles to fall to 0-2 in NorWOSSA play.
Anwar Cheblaoui led the black-and-gold with 20 points. Mark Buist was the next leading scorer with four.
Meanwhile, the Muskie junior boys led by 14 points at one point in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles stormed back to force overtime and an eventual 51-43 victory.
Garnett Cornell netted 16 points to lead Muskies, who also saw their NorWOSSA record drop to 0-2, while Joey Therriault added 11.
In girls’ volleyball action, the senior squad was swept 25-20, 25-17, and 25-18 by the host Eagles, falling to 0-2 on the season.
And the juniors didn’t fare much better, losing their best-of-five match 3-1 (by scores of 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, and 19-25) to even their NorWOSSA record at 1-1.
The Muskies don’t resume NorWOSSA action until Jan. 6, when they travel to Kenora to face the Broncos.
