The Muskie boys’ hockey team’s excursion to Winnipeg got off on the right foot yesterday as they beat the Oak Park Raiders 6-2 in their opening game of the Hill Dewar Vincent International Tournament of Champions.
Zach McCool and Taylor Jorgenson led the Muskie attack with a pair of goals each. Mike McCaig and Joe Basaraba rounded out the scoring.
David Moen earned the win between the pipes.
The Muskies hit the ice again this morning against St. Thomas of Villanova from LaSalle, Ont. before meeting the Kelvin Clippers of Winnipeg this afternoon.
The playoff round begins tomorrow.
