With their seasons on the line last night, the two Muskie hockey teams had different outcomes.
The Muskie boys advanced to the NorWOSSA final after downing the visiting Red Lake Rams 6-2 in the third-and-deciding game of their semi-final series.
Nick Jourdain led the way with two goals and an assist.
The black-and-gold now will host the Kenora Broncos in the opener of the best-of-three NorWOSSA final on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
But the Muskie girls saw their season came to an end last night in Dryden as the host Eagles won 6-1 in the third-and-deciding game of their semi-final showdown.
Kristen Bartlett had a hat trick to help Dryden earn a berth in the NorWOSSA final against Kenora.
Shelby Tymkin had the lone Muskie goal.
In other news, the Muskie boys’ and girls’ curling rinks, skipped by Isaac and Tirzah Keffer, respectively, both captured gold at the NorWOSSA playoffs in Sioux Lookout and now advance to the NWOSSAA showdown this Sunday through Tuesday in Terrace Bay.
The Muskies mixed foursome, led by skip Luke Esselink, earned silver but their season is now over as there is no mixed event at the NWOSSAA level.
Finally, Donovan Taylor capture silver yesterday at the OFSAA swimming championships in Etobicoke, finishing second in the 100m butterfly event.
Taylor is back in action today as the favourite in the 200m I.M. event.
