The Muskie boys’ soccer team seems to have hit its stride in NorWOSSA play.
The black-and-gold connected for six goals yesterday in Dryden as the squad improved its league record to 3-0-1.
Fort High edged Kenora 2-1, with goals from Jameson Shortreed and Brendan Cawston, before trouncing the host Eagles 4-1.
Shortreed, Andrew Gobeil, Anniss Seid, and Caleb Heerema found the net in that one.
The Muskie girls’ team, meanwhile, still is looking for its first NorWOSSA tally this season after they were blanked 3-0 by Kenora and 2-0 by Dryden yesterday to fall to 0-3-1 on the season.
NorWOSSA play wraps up next Wednesday (May 19) in Kenora, with the playoffs set for May 26 in Dryden.
In related news, the Muskie girls will be hosting a tournament tomorrow and Saturday against St. Thomas Aquinas (Kenora), St. Patrick’s (Thunder Bay), and Hanover (a Winnipeg club team).
Fort High is scheduled to play at 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. tomorrow, and then at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
The championship game is set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
