Jason Neniska netted the game-winner with less than two minutes to go in the extra frame when his shot went off the glove of Muskie goalie Scott Parsons and into the net.
Nikolas Jourdain had one of the goals for Fort High (details on the other goal were not available at press time).
The Muskies will look to avenge the loss this coming Tuesday (Feb. 15) when both teams will square off once again at 7:15 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena here.
Meanwhile, the Muskie girls’ hockey team saw their three-game winning streak come to an halt Tuesday night as they were on the losing end of a 4-3 decision to the host St. Thomas Aquinas Saints (Kenora).
Jillian Langtry paced the Muskie on offence with a goal and two assists, with Hailey Clendenning and Ericka Tymkin notching the other goals.
The key to the Saints’ victory came between the pipes as goalie Emilie Viel made 39 saves to earn the win.
