Muskie boys rip Rams

If these were two heavyweight fights, the trainer for the Red Lake Rams would have thrown in every towel he could get their hands on both times.
The Muskies (3-0) dominated every facet in a pair of blowout victories in NorWOSSA play against the visiting Rams to run their unbeaten streak this season to 11 games (10-0-1), including tournaments.
The Muskies started slowly Friday night at the Ice For Kids Arena, but gathered steam as the game wore on and eased their way to a 9-0 shutout.
Then an 11 a.m. start time for Saturday’s rematch at the Emo-La Vallee Arena didn’t make any difference to the black-and-gold as they looked even more impressive in a 10-0 whitewashing of Red Lake.
Goal scorers for both games were not available by press time this morning.
The Muskies will lace up their blades again tomorrow night when they head to Dryden to face the Eagles in their first road game of the NorWOSSA season.
The Eagles have pushed Fort High to the limit twice so far, losing 3-1 to the Muskies at a pre-season tourney in Dryden and then being edged 3-2 in the gold-medal game of a tournament in Morden, Man.
Matt DePiero scored the game-winner with one second left in regulation time in the second match-up between the two squads.
The Muskies don’t play at home again until Dec. 1 when those same Eagles come to town.
