The Muskie boys’ soccer team suffered its first NorWOSSA loss yesterday in Kenora but it had no effect on the standings as the black-and-gold earned a bye to the league final next Wednesday in Dryden.
Wrapping up regular-season play yesterday, Fort High (4-1-1) first beat Dryden 3-1 on goals by Anniss Seid, David Chambers, and Colton Spicer.
But then they were blanked 2-0 by the host Broncos in the afternoon.
The girls’ squad, meanwhile, got on the scoreboard for the first time in NorWOSSA play but still were unable to post their first win.
Fort High (0-4-2) battled to a 1-1 draw with Dryden on Jessica Caul’s goal before the Broncos dumped the black-and-gold 6-1.
Courtney Roach scored in that one.
The girls have a tough road to hoe to repeat as league champ, having to play Dryden in the semi-final next Wednesday.
That winner then will face the Broncos for NorWOSSA gold and a trip to the all-Ontarios.
