Muskie ‘birders’ come up short

The 2012 badminton season came to an end for four Muskies yesterday afternoon at the NWOSSAA playoffs in Thunder Bay.
The boys’ doubles team of Bryson Skirten and Andre Emond, along with the mixed doubles tandem of Tori Sikora and Connor Bujold, came up short in their quest for a berth at the all-Ontarios next month.
Skirten and Emond, who are both in Grade 12, finished in fourth place in the six-team round-robin with a record of 2-3.
Sikora and Bujold, who are in Grades 11 and 9, respectively, came away with a fifth-place showing after posting a 1-4 record.
The black-and-gold finished in ninth place in the final overall standings with six points, which put them third-best among NorWOSSA schools behind Rainy River and Dryden.
