Mud Dogs extend winning streak to five

The Fort Frances Mud Dogs pushed their winning streak to five games with an 18-3 rout of the Manitou T-Birdies in Rainy River District Women’s Fastball League action Monday night.
Shelby Tymkin smacked a homer to pace the offence.
Rachelle Yeo earned the pitching win while Summer Leonard suffered the loss.
MVP honours went to Tymkin (Mud Dogs) and Kayla Allen (T-Birdies).
Elsewhere, Alyssa Windego homered to spark the Red Gut Babes to a 16-7 win over the Fort Frances Angels.
Windego also earned the win while Rylee Redford was tagged with the loss.
The MVPs were Avery Sivonen (Angels) and Tracy Morningstar (Babes).
The Emo Renegades, meanwhile, rolled to a 22-7 romp over the Dawson Tigers.
Mykenize Borger picked up the win while Laurie Fairfield took the loss.
MVP honours went to Janelle Andy (Renegades) and Cassidy Teeple (Tigers).
The Big Grassy Lynx pulled out a narrow 18-16 victory over the Sabaskong Tebinaak.
Candace Handorgan nabbed the win, with Jarrah Tom taking the defeat.
The Fort Frances Her-ricanes cruised to 13-1 win against the Couchiching Lady Raiders.
Marissa Kerry earned the win while Grace Bagg was saddled with the loss.
The MVPs were Amy Penner (Her-ricanes) and Darcy Jones (Lady Raiders).
The Northwest Bay Beavers had the bye.
Last Wednesday’s games saw Mother Nature wreak havoc, with only two of the five scheduled games able to take place.
The Mud Dogs rolled to a 19-8 win over Sabaskong.
Kaily Greengrass homered for the Mud Dogs while Rachelle Yeo earned the win.
Sheila Prince suffered the loss.
MVP honours went to Lena Copenace (Sabaskong) and Greengrass (Mud Dogs).
Erika Jourdain, meanwhile, cranked a homer to lead the Lady Raiders to a 15-2 romp over Big Grassy.
Grace Bragg earned the win while Candace Handorgan took the loss.
The MVPs were Bragg (Couchiching) and Handorgan (Lynx).
Games featuring the Babes at Tigers, Angels at Her-ricanes, and Renegades at Northwest Bay all were cancelled due to rain and will be rescheduled.
Manitou had the bye.
Tonight’s games will see the Her-ricanes battling Sabaskong, Big Grassy facing the Mud Dogs, Dawson visiting Northwest Bay, the Babes squaring off with the Renegades, and the T-Birdies taking on the Lady Raiders.
The Angels have the bye.
