The Tamarack Motocross Club has changed its race dates for this season—pushing each back a day and racing on Sunday instead of Saturday.
“Saturday will be the practice and the race on Sunday,” owner Mike Scheibler noted.
He explained the ambulance must be at the motocross races and the stock car races in case of injury.
“They are concerned there would be an overlap with the stock car racing, which is also on Saturdays,” Scheibler remarked, noting the races are scheduled to be finished by 4 p.m. but there’s always a possibility of a hold-up for some reason.
The ambulance has to be at the Emo Speedway by 6 p.m.
“It’s still early enough [in the season] to change it,” Scheibler added.
As such, the dates for the motocross races are now July 1-2, Aug. 6-7, and Sept. 9-10.
Meanwhile, another membership meeting for the club has been scheduled, making the sign-up dates May 12 and 19 from 5-9 p.m. upstairs in John Gavel’s building (on the highway just west of Emo).
Scheibler will be on hand to answer questions anyone has, will ensure waivers are signed, and hopes to get some feedback on the track.
“I don’t want to have a big rush at the gate,” he noted.
