Moose tickets scarce

Tickets for Friday night’s exhibition game between the Manitoba Moose and Toronto Marlies at the Ice for Kids Arena here are almost sold out.
“They’re going really well, actually I don’t have too many left,” said Shane Bliss, head coach of the Muskie boys’ hockey team and one of the organizers of the event.
“It seems like every time I pick up the phone, it’s for a ticket,” he added.
The exhibition game is being organized by the Muskie Blueline Club as a fundraiser for the hockey team. Sales have been brisk, with most of the 1,200 tickets already sold.
Tickets are $20 in advance, which are available at Skates & Blades, Taggs, and the Super 8 Motel in Fort Frances, as well as Tompkins Hardware in Emo.
Fans also can call Bliss at Fort Frances High School (274-7747).
Tickets will cost $25 at the door—if there’s any left.
Bliss said it’s hard to guess how many tickets would be available at the door, but that he “would imagine there’ll be a few” given there were a few “day of” sales when the Moose were last in town for an exhibition game back in 2004.
There will be raffles at the game, including a 50/50 draw and autographed jerseys courtesy of the Moose.
While the Moose will arrive in Fort Frances shortly before the game, the Marlies will be here tomorrow afternoon.
They will hold a practice at 4:30 p.m. at the Ice for Kids Arena, as well as a morning skate on Friday at 10:15 a.m.
