Kitchen Creek associate club pro Glen Mills missed earning a spot in the MTS Classic after a qualifier yesterday in Winnipeg.
Mills fired a four-over 76 for a tie for ninth place at the Breezy Bend golf course, but then bowed out in a three-hole playoff for the third alternate position.
Six of the top golfers from yesterday will play at the MTS—the Canadian pro tour stop in Manitoba—at Pine Ridge starting Thursday.
Mills, a Winnipeg native, previously has competed in 12 Canadian tour events.
In related news, the Kitchen Creek Anniversary Tournament set for Thursday has gone beyond full capacity. Originally planned as a 120-golfer event, the field had ballooned to 134 as of this morning.
But club pro Steve Wood said he’ll consider taking any late-comers.
The deadline for registration is tomorrow (Wednesday) at 5 p.m. Call the pro shop at 274-4653 for more details.
