Mills in middle of pack

Glen Mills, the associate club pro at Kitchen Creek, carded a seven-over 151 after two rounds of the Ping Canadian Golfers’ Association assistants’ championship in Orillia.
He sat in an eight-way tie for 42nd place heading into today’s final round, which teed off this morning at the Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club.
Mills opened with a four-over 76 on Wednesday and then had a 75 yesterday to make the cut by six shots.
Gregg Foley, of the Kevin Haime Golf Centre near Ottawa, had a two-round total of 137 for sole possession of first place heading into today’s final round.
Meanwhile, Mills and the Manitoba squad finished in third place in the InterZone team competition based on their top four golfers’ total score (444 points).
Ontario won the event with a 430 total.
