Registration for the Borderland men’s soccer league will be held tomorrow from 7-9 p.m. in Room 138 at Fort Frances High School.
The league is open to players aged 15 and over, and cost per player is $85. Those interested also must bring along their health card.
League organizer Mike Webb is hoping the registration call will garner a hearty turnout and make things smoother for both the general meeting next Wednesday and field warm-ups beginning May 14.
“Hopefully, we’ll get a good turnout,” he said this morning. “But if we don’t, the team captains should get a hold of their players.”
The league is anticipating a strong season of local talent to play at the pitches behind St. Francis School. Close to 90 players participated in the five-team league last year.
In addition to the 16 regular-season and playoff games, the league is looking forward to hosting an invitational tournament here later this summer.
