Men’s hoops league back

The Fort Frances men’s basketball league has tipped off for another season and with two weeks in the books, the defending champs once again are the team to beat.
Investors Group, who were known as Boston Pizza last season, improved to 2-0 with a 92-81 win over the Muskies (1-1) last night at the Fort High gym.
Adrian Chapman led the way with 47 points while Caleb McIntosh had 38 points for the black-and-gold.
Monday’s win came on the heels of a 79-66 victory over Taggs the previous week, where Rob McGinnis led the way with 28 points.
In the other game last night, the La Place Rendez-Vous Voyageurs earned their first win of the season with a 101-74 romp over the still winless Taggs.
Josh Mastin had 44 points for the Voyageurs while Brady Jensen netted 27 in a losing cause.
The Voyageurs had edged the Muskies 87-85 the previous week, but that game was awarded to the black-and-gold because the Vous was short a player prior to the contest.
The last league games before Christmas will take place next Monday at Fort High, with the Muskies facing Taggs at 6:45 p.m.
The Voyageurs then will take on Investors Group at 8 p.m.
