Meeting planned on bass tourney’s future

A meeting has been scheduled to discuss the future direction of the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship.
The date is set for next Wednesday (Oct. 7) at 6:30 p.m., with the location to be determined by the number of people who express interest in attending.
Despite rumblings that the tournament may be a no-go next year, FFCBC chairman Tom Fry said that simply isn’t the case.
“We’ll need to make a decision as to what we’re going to be doing, but there hasn’t been any decisions made yet,” he stressed.
“We have to get things straightened out for next year.”
Fry did say the need to recruit more directors is a primary concern at this point.
“We ran too short [with directors] at the end of last year, so we have to fill a few positions already, and there were a couple more that have indicated they want to get out,” he noted.
“We’re going to need to fill some spots, that’s for sure.”
Anyone interested in attending next Wednesday’s meeting is asked to call Fry at 274-3584.
