The local MEC Bulldogs blanked Kroppy’s Hawks (Kenora) 6-0 to win the ‘B’ consolation final at a 12-team tournament in Keewatin last weekend.
Brent Lindberg paced the Bulldogs with a hat trick while Kevin Bobczynski, Alex Wepruk, and Ghislain Godin added singles.
Aaron Kadikoff earned the shutout in goal.
MEC was relegated to the consolation final after losing 5-1 to Kenora Red Esso. Bobczynski netted the lone Bulldog goal in that one.
MEC opened the tournament with a 2-1 loss to Kenora Blue Esso, then rebounded with a 4-1 win over the Kenora Kanucks.
Lindberg (two), Matt Smith, Joel Smith, and Boyd Badiuk all scored for the Bulldogs in those games.
