It was raining “threes” on Monday night and Caleb McIntosh was the cause of the storm.
McIntosh drilled eight three-pointers in the second half as part of a game-high 34 points to lead Taggs to a 98-74 victory over Investors Group in the Fort Frances Men’s Basketball League action.
Todd Richards had 23 to pace Investors Group.
The win moved Taggs (3-2) within a game of first-place La Place Rendez-Vous (4-1) while Investors Group (1-5) remains in third.
The opening game of the evening went down as a forfeit win for the Vous over the winless Muskies.
They have been unable to field a team multiple times this season and are not being officially listed in the standings at this point.
The league is off this Monday due to the Family Day holiday.
Action will resume Feb. 23 when Investors Group is slated to face the Muskies at 6:45 p.m.
That will be followed by a showdown for top spot between the Vous and Taggs.
