Hudson Mann put his talent on full display at the Tec Team Freestyle and Greco Open in West Fargo, N.D. on Sunday.
The Grade 8 wrestler, who originally is from Fort Frances, went undefeated in both Freestyle and Greco.
Mann’s Greco looked great and he hit two big four-point throws on North Dakota’s 2018 champion in the first 20 seconds of the match.
“Freestyle was a good opportunity for both of us to see what improvements are needed,” noted Hudson’s father, Jeremy Mann, who also is an assistant coach for the Mighty Mustang youth wrestling program in International Falls.
“Hudson pinned all of his opponents but did give up a takedown because he didn’t finish a shot quickly.”
Hudson Mann usually trains with The Avengers (Hibbing, Mn.) and Screaming Yetis (Grand Rapids, Mn.) twice a week with coach Chris Thoresen in the room.
“[Hudson] was dominant and controlled his opponents well,” Jeremy Mann lauded.
“It was nice to start the Freestyle and Greco season out strong.”
Tomorrow, Hudson will be traveling to Thunder Bay with some friends for some more Freestyle action and new competition at the Gord Garvie Memorial Tournament.
Elementary weight classes at the event will be grouped by age and weight and there will be pools with a maximum four wrestlers.
