John Lundon beat out 24 other riders to take the checkered flag in the 500 cc division of a snowcross race in Grand Rapids, Mn. last weekend.
Lundon, 19, of here raced to four first-place finishes, a third, and a fifth on Saturday to qualify for Sunday’s semi-final, where he got a top-four placing to earn a berth into the final.
He finished as the overall champion in the Northern Minnesota circuit for the 500 cc class with 95 points, edging out a pair of U.S. racers who wound up with 80 and 75 points respectively.
Lundon also placed second overall in the 600 cc class, and also may have won the open class (depending on the final results from another racer).
His next action is this weekend in Minneapolis on a different circuit.
