A number of local youth bowlers performed well at a tournament in Dryden on Oct. 17.
Lyle Dolph and Caitlyn Townson won their respective divisions at the Sunset Youth Challenge, meaning they, among other top finishers, now advance to the provincial round in North Bay on the first weekend of December.
Dolph totalled 1,230 for five games (272, 233, 273, 282, and 170) while Townson notched a 1,038 total (201, 210, 188, 211, and 228).
Other locals advancing to North Bay included Jordan Sokoliuk (1,067), Daniel Murray (1,027), Natasha Petawanaqueb (974), Amber Townson (960), Dusty Good (934), and Travis Bois (913).
Dallas Gervais was a runner-up with a 909 total.
Plaza Lanes also held the Northern Ontario Family Twosome tournament, with winners advancing to Kenora on Nov. 14.
Divisional winners included Adrianna McCoy and Brian McCoy (752), Alexis Parker and Kathleen Lawrence (896), Amber Townson and Jeanie Townson (1,010), and Lyle Dolph and Ray Dolph (1,178).
