Anyone who thinks they know how stubborn athletes can be may have seen nothing yet.
Falls High School will host what should be a unique and entertaining fundraising event this Wednesday (Jan. 18) at 7 p.m. when “Dairyland Donkey Basketball” takes over the gym for a pair games.
Fort Frances and area players are being asked to step up and take on a team comprised of International Falls’ business and town administrative members.
That will be the second game on the agenda, with the Falls High Class of ’17 taking on teachers from the school in the opener.
The event aims to raise money for the senior class’ planned trip to the eastern U.S. this spring.
Riders must be at least 16 years old (with those under 18 needing a signature from a parent or guardian) and weigh less than 225 pounds to take part.
All participants also must sign a waiver before the evening gets underway.
There will be a mandatory meeting for all participants at 6 p.m. in the gym to go over the rules of the game.

For those just wanting to watch the fun, tickets cost $7 (U.S.) in advance and $10 (U.S.) at the door, although any tickets bought at Betty’s in Fort Frances can be paid in Canadian funds.
Otherwise, they are available at City Drug, SuperOne Foods, and County Market in the Falls.
