After earning one first-place and two third-place finishes at the Sunset Country regional figure skating competition here in late January, Sophie Potvin-Begin continued her recent run of success this past weekend in Sault Ste. Marie.
The Border Skating Club member took part in the “Festival of Stars” competition on Saturday, where she finished first overall in the Junior Silver Ladies Freeskate event.
As a result, Potvin-Begin now will head to the Trillium STARSkate provincial competition slated for March 11-13 in Mississauga, Ont.
Potvin-Begin’s pairs partner, Michael Nelson, also will be in Mississauga that weekend for the Trillium Cup competition.
