Local riders perform well at Kakabeka race


Local motocross racers had yet another solid showing at the Superior Dirt Riders’ fifth stop of the season in Kakabeka Falls on Saturday.
Landon Flinders of Fort Frances was tops in the 85cc age 7-11 race.
He was followed by Alex Kreger of Emo in third, Aiden McTavish of Devlin in sixth, and Ozzy Hanson of the Fort in seventh.
Dylan Tessier also soared to victory in the MX3 Beginner class.
He then placed third in the Schoolboy race while Brandon Croswell of Emo was fifth and Cole Kreger of Emo took seventh.
Blake Kreger of Emo took fourth in the 85cc age 12-16 category while Dawson Pollard of the Fort was fifth.
Blake Kreger also was fifth in the Super Mini division, followed by Flinders in sixth and Alex Kreger in ninth.
Brandon Croswell had the top local showing in the MX3 Open division, winding up sixth.
He was followed by Cole Kreger in eighth and his father, Trevor Croswell of Emo, in 10th.
Trevor Croswell also wound up third in the Vet 40+ race.
Kali Tessier of Devlin wound up sixth in the 65cc PeeWee age 7-11 category, followed right behind by Aiden McTavish.
She also wound up sixth in the Ladies Overall class.
The Superior Dirt Riders will conclude its season with its sixth and final stop in Atikokan on Sept. 28.
The end-of-year awards banquet then is slated for Oct. 19 at the Valhalla Inn in Thunder Bay.
