Local figure skaters haul home medals

There certainly was a medal rush going on for Border Skating Club skaters in Winnipeg this past weekend.
Six locals combined for a total of 12 medals at the SuperSkate Competition, led by Jayde Wright, who took home hardware in all three of her events.
Wright finished first in StarSkate pre-preliminary elements and StarSkate pre-preliminary free skate, and second in StarSkate pre-preliminary jump.
Alina Eldridge took home two medals, placing first in StarSkate pre-preliminary elements and second in StarSkate pre-preliminary free skate.
Eldridge also finished fifth in StarSkate pre-preliminary jump.
Jillian Bobczynski, meanwhile, finished first in pre-novice free skate and third in pre-novice short program.
She also ended up fourth in pre-novice competitive jump.
Avery Wilson-Hands and Lexi Caul ended up with a pair of silvers each.
Wilson-Hands earned hers in StarSkate junior bronze jump and StarSkate junior bronze elements while also ending up sixth in the StarSkate junior bronze free skate and StarSkate junior bronze spins.
Caul, meanwhile, took silver in the StarSkate preliminary elements and StarSkate preliminary free skate, as well as coming sixth in the StarSkate preliminary spins.
Ashley Dupuis also medalled, finishing third in the StarSkate entry free skate and fourth in the StarSkate entry elements.
