Jordan Larson feels like he barely got to play hockey this season.
But when he did, he made it count—and plans on doing the same in the coming weeks.
The Fort Frances native and captain of the Carleton Place Canadians was chosen as a CCHL third team all-star following a regular season that had a doughnut-like quality—one big hole in the middle.
Larson was rolling near the top of the CCHL scoring race, sitting second with 41 points in 24 games, just one point back of linemate Lucas Batt on the defending CCHL champions and RBC Cup finalists from a season ago.
But just 20 seconds into a Nov. 13 game against the Cumberland Grads, he sprained his ankle while battling for the puck.
That not only took him out of the Eastern Canada Cup Challenge the following week, where he had been chosen to play on the CCHL’s Team Robinson, but ended up costing him almost the next three months and a total of 24 games.
“I was out a long time and it was very difficult, but I’m back now 100 percent,” said Larson, who finished with 52 points..
The Canadians currently lead the Brockville Braces 2-0 in their best-of-seven CCHL semifinal.
