The Fort Frances Lakers began the 2020-2021 season swinging, with a clean sweep against their first opponent, the Kenora Thistles.
In the final two games of the pair’s bubble match, Fort Frances defeated Kenora 4-1 on December 18 to a hometown crowd, and again 5-1 in Kenora on December 20.
the Kenora Thistles were welcomed into the league this year, to accommodate bubble scheduling, in which a pair of teams join up for a number of games, followed by a minimum 14 day isolation, before bubbling with another team. The Thistles are an important feeder team for the league, giving coaches a great look at the Lakers of tomorrow.
