The Fort Frances Lakers will begin their post-season march to a second-straight Bill Salonen Cup here Friday night.
As expected, the SIJHL announced the best-of-seven semi-final series between the first-place Lakers and fourth-place Thunder Bay North Stars will get underway Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.
Game 2 then goes here Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Thunder Bay will host Games 3 and 4 next Monday and Tuesday (March 30-31).
Game 5, if necessary, will shift back to here on April 2, with a Game 6 set for Thunder Bay on April 4 if needed.
Should the series go the distance, Game 7 will be played here April 6.
The other semi-final will pit the second-place Minnesota Iron Rangers against the third-place Dryden GM Ice Dogs.
Game 1 of that series goes Friday in Hoyt Lakes.
Should the Lakers beat the North Stars, the winner of the Iron Rangers-Ice Dogs series is guaranteed a berth in the Dudley Hewitt Cup tournament here April 28-May 2.
That’s because the Lakers already have a berth as the host team.
