At this rate, there won’t be any more rungs to climb in two more weeks.
For the fourth-straight week, the Fort Frances Lakers achieved a new all-time best position in the Canadian Junior ‘A’ Hockey League top 20 rankings, moving up one notch for the third week in a row to land at No. 3.
The Lakers (16-1-0-1) currently are riding a 15-game winning streak, having not lost since a 7-6 shootout defeat against the Ice Dogs in Dryden back on Sept. 25.
Fort Frances leads the Thunder Bay North Stars (11-2-0-3) by eight points for top spot in the SIJHL, with Thunder Bay holding two games in hand.
The two teams will meet in the Lakers’ next game Nov. 19 in Thunder Bay.
